Remington 1100 serial number dating

If you have a 12 gauge with a K at the end you have a very unusual animal. Thanks to all for the help, but I was still confused since I recently purchased the gun in a box from a dealer. But, it's a 12 gauge - otherwise I've been squeezing a lot of 12 gauge shells into a 20 gauge chamber. Both were taken off Remington 760s, with the one on the left, a 30-06 that I bought new October 10, 1954. The one on the right again a 30-06, but with a shorter barrel that I made into a knock around quad rifle with pivot mounts.(*) On 8/9/99, they stopped stamping the barrels with the date code.

AND There are also markings on the barrel as previously stated,for ID purposes also.

The Pre-fix letter showed up in the 70's and gives a general time span for the (Check Barrel for more info) "L" is early to mid 70s.
